    Mr. Byron Snow Nelson, age 71, of Mount Ida, AR, passed away February 13, 2015 at his home. He was born January 24, 1944 to the late Bryon and Exie Nelson in Lavaca, AR. He was the hardest working man; It didn’t matter sleet or snow, no matter the distance he would work on it. He never stopped until the job was done. He is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers; Billy and Clark Nelson, Sisters; Laura Nelson, Ann Ashlin and Dorothy Douglas, Wife of thirty-two years Jo Ann Nelson.

    Children: Carrie Jones and Husband Tommy of Plain Dealing, LA

    Frank Nelson of Mount Ida, AR
    Step-son Jessie Stone and Wife Ginny of Mount Ida, AR
    Step-son Wes Stone and Wife Chau of Plano, TX

    Grandchildren: Ashley Jones, Morgan Jones, Caleb Jones, Ashton Currey, Alyssa Currey, Karsyn Currey, Kaybreona Brown, Ammie Farrill, Shane Farrill, Payton Stone, Tommy Stone, Brooklyn Hopper, Reagyn Hopper, Nicole Stone and Annelise Stone.

    A visitation will be held February 15, 2015 2-4 p.m. at Thornton Funeral Home in Mount Ida, AR. Services will be held February 16, 2015 at the Thornton Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Pencil Bluff Cemetery in Pencil Bluff, AR. Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida, AR.

    He is one of the greatest man in Mt Ida. Always there to help my husband any time he call. And my Husband was always there for him to day or night. It didn't matter what it was. Just a great big heart. R.I.P Byron gone but never forgotten. THE HACKNEY FAMILY.

    loved my grandpa even though he didnt know much about me i love him inside and out dead or alive he was my everything
